Aside from Batangas and Laguna, the province of Bulacan is also top of mind when it comes to weekend getaways. It has everything you need to escape from the city if only for a couple of days: patches of green, accessibility, and—more importantly—rentals that can fit the whole family. Plus points if the place has picture-worthy aesthetics. My Cabin by Selah in Bustos, Bulacan has six cabins that not only make for great photos but are also spacious enough for a group.

Why You Should Book This Bulacan Resort

Cabin sizes range from those that can fit up to four people (start at P5,300) to those that can accommodate up to 12 persons (P13,500). Each one sports a different theme: the Great Wave Cabin, for example, channels Japanese artist Hokusai's famous woodblock print design; the Koi Cabin features a small koi pond in front; the Bali Cabin makes you feel like you're on the Indonesian island, and the Comic Cabin has black-and-white comic strips on the wall.

All cabins have an ensuite bathroom, an outdoor shower, and a private pool. Medium- and big-sized cabins also have a separate hot tub. If you wish to use a kawa bath, which is a traditional hot bath that uses a huge thick fryer over a mild bonfire, there's an additional charge.

Pets are also welcome, "as long as your pet isn't an alligator or over four feet tall," they said.

My Cabin by Selah is at 9022 General Alejo Santos Avenue, Purok 6, San Pedro, Bustos, Bulacan. Rates start at P5,300. For more information, visit My Cabin by Selah's website.
