What You Need to Know Before Heading to Baguio City

Baguio City is open to tourists again from the Greater Manila Area, its local government unit said this week after the government approved leisure travel without age restrictions.

Persons on leisure travel from areas under general community quarantine (GCQ) or modified general community quarantine (MGCQ) will be allowed entry to Baguio City, its public information office said.

This means that travelers coming from Metro Manila, Bulacan, Laguna, Cavite, and Rizal can again visit the City of Pines.

Here are the requirements for travel to Baguio City:

1. Approved QR-coded Tourist Pass issued through https://visita.baguio.gov.ph

2. Negative results of rapid antigen or RT-PCR test conducted within 72 hours prior to entry in Baguio.

In absence of negative test results, the traveler shall undergo testing at the Baguio City Central Triage Unit.

Upon arrival, travelers should submit themselves for a health assessment at Baguio’s triage units.

Those who are unable to present the requirements shall be refused entry, while those who have symptoms of COVID-19 or who will test positive for the virus shall be referred to the nearest health facility or instructed to return to their place of origin.

The Department of Tourism earlier said leisure travel should only be on a "point-to-point" basis only, which means that while pit stops or stopovers are allowed for eating and personal necessities, and that no side trips shall be made to other tourism destinations.
