Throw a Moulin Rouge-Inspired Party!

Transform your bedroom into a glamorous and sexy lair for you and your friends

Throwing a bridal shower? Or simply having your girls in on a Saturday night? Why don’t you throw a Moulin Rouge-inspired party?  It’s bold and one-of-a-kind. Plus, dressing up your room boudoir-style will surely be a hit among your close friends. Ready to party? Here’s how:

1. Stock up on light, sweet treats.

Prepare French-inspired pastries like eclairs and croissants—you don’t have to go for the expensive kind. Style them on metallic cupcake stands or even on metallic trays or saucers. Have some wine, too. If it’s way over your budget, pour wine seltzers into wine decanters in lieu of champagne.

2. Decorate your room with rich tones of red.

Create a glamorous and luxurious atmosphere. Bring out your lola’s gilded and tasseled curtains. Fill your room with different tones of red—red rugs, red pillows, red throws—and complement them with blacks and golds to add drama and sophistication.

3. Bring out the DVDs!

Spend your night wearing comfortable lingerie or nightgowns while watching—what else?—Moulin Rouge! Bond with your friends as you watch the tragic story of Christian and Satine (played by Ewan McGregor and Nicole Kidman, respectively). Pass the tissue, please!

4. Make your own Moulin Rouge-inspired photo booth.

Hang rich, red drapery in one corner of your room and make it your photo booth. Simply put a camera on a tripod, time it, and snap photos of you and your friends having fun on your exclusive girls night-in.
