Interior designer Kristine Neri-Magturo and her team of three junior designers share a 30-sqm loft space filled with pieces from their old Eastwood office and more antique finds from vintage shops. Although the space may be relatively small, it has clearly defined areas that contribute to a smooth workflow.

One of the defined areas is an intimate meeting space furnished with a small square table. Kristine complemented the new furniture with old chairs that she has kept for years.

Kristine’s desk is placed right in front of a huge window. The airy space is defined by the immaculate white walls and floors, an antique hardwood chair, and wooden swivel chair. You can create the same pristine feel in your own home by filling a white room with wooden pieces.

To make the space more interesting, the junior designers chose their own fabrics to reupholster their office chairs with. The area is also unique because of the bulbs attached to abaca ropes made by Kristine's husband, Mike Magturo.

Since they needed a table big enough for laying out blueprint and reviewing different swatches, Kristine chose an island counter. For a rustic feel, the table is paired with bar stools upholstered in burlap fabric. The space is illuminated with a 1940s chandelier from an antique shop.

Open shelves are used to store work-related things and separate the different areas of the office.

In this area, Kristine proves that you don't always need to purchase new things for your personal space. The corner is completed with a round rug made from the grass panels she bought for her own wedding.

Interior designers Chako Hirayama and Frenjick Quesada's office is located in a charming compound of old, mid-century-style apartments. The space is fresh, contemporary, and filled with unexpected surprises.

“We wanted it non-traditional, quirky, friendly, relaxed, and creative—a new generation space where our team would enjoy coming to work. We were aiming to stimulate and inspire creative thinking,” explained Frenjick.

Since the office can be found in Unit H, one of the walls in the space is covered with different H's.

One of the two rooms upstairs is used as a bedroom so employees can take power naps during their lunch break.

Since the solid wood chest of drawers takes up a lot of space, the heft is balanced with a four-poster bed that has slim posts. The area is livened up with the bright colors of the tile artwork on the chest and a patchwork bedspread.

Frenjick relates the concept behind the office’s sprawling, open plan layout for the ground floor: “It’s definitely more of a lounge, coffee shop setup. It just reflects us a firm; we work in teams and value collaboration. So instead of everyone in separate spaces, everyone shares a big table, docks their laptops, and collaborate on the different projects we work on.”

Because the office has an open layout and high ceiling, the space can be filled with hardwood furniture pieces like this daybed.

The design team also chose another affordable way to make the space stand out. Instead of a framed painting or a wall accent, they simply painted parts of the wall with brown and teal shades.

This office corner is spruced up with a colorful artwork and an upholstered accent chair.

The designers use fabric swatches for their work. The printed pieces of cloth also add color to the space.

Since the office is so spacious, this staircase is a perfect fit. For your own home, you can also use the space under the stairs with a high-back chair and home accessories.

The space’s double-height ceiling is emphasized by the red droplights and colorful wall art pieces. These bright hues also complement the teal-colored banister.

For your own home, you should choose bold artwork and dramatic lighting fixtures for a striking effect.

Even the office supplies are kept in chic wooden containers.

One of the shelves is decorated with a Salvador Dali-inspired clock, sculptural mouse décor, and a gray IKEA lamp.
