RL Reader of the Week: Jadeline Ralleta

Our RL Reader of the Week shows us her home and reveals what she loves best about Real Living

Our RL Reader of the Week is Jadeline Ralleta. Jadeline lives in Baliwag, Bulacan. She has been reading the magazine since 2005.

Real Living (RL): What is your favorite Real Living issue?

Jadeline: My favorite issue of Real Living, to date, is the May 2013 issue because you showcased homes that are stylish and personal. You also helped readers to get the look of the featured homes. You even recommended thrift stores where we could find accessories to decorate our home on a budget.

RL:  What are the biggest lessons that you have learned from Real Living?

Jadeline: The greatest lessons that I learned from Real Living are: how to make D-I-Y projects, organize my kitchen & home office, combine colors, find stores, and personalize my home.

The clean and minimalist feel of the bare facade makes the house stand out.

The free-standing open shelves by the front door hold framed family photos and decorative items.

Living Room

In the living room, the whitewashed walls and glossy white tiles are paired with wooden furniture pieces. Traditional Filipino items in a modern home can make the space feel warm and welcoming.

Dining Area

More intricately-carved Filipino chairs are found in the dining room.

If you are also thinking of furnishing your space with wooden pieces, remember that less is more. Limit the furniture and decor to keep a light and airy vibe.

Breakfast Nook

A corner of the room is furnished with a four-seater dining set, making it the perfect spot for enjoying breakfast.

The butaka, another iconic Filipino piece, is placed near the window.

The kitchen has the same pristine and streamlined look as the rest of the home.

White pieces and gleaming surfaces add to the appeal of the kitchen.

In the bedroom, a table lamp rests on a wooden console.

Much like the rest of the house, the bedroom is furnished simply. This makes the areas of the home feel airy and breezy.

In another bedroom, crisp white sheets make the bed even more inviting.

Study Table

A study table can be found on one corner of the bedroom. The table is completed with a long corkboard and a vase of flowers.
