Clinique x Marimekko Launches Limited Edition Makeup Collection

There are two types of beauty lovers—those who couldn't care less about the packaging and those who will buy anything with a sparkling label. If you're part of the latter, today is your lucky day! 

Finnish design house Marimekko, a name celebrated worldwide for their original, graphic-Scandinavian prints, has collaborated with makeup brand Clinique for an iconic Limited Edition Collection. The well-curated line combines the colorful patterns of the fashion brand with the latter's everyday beauty essentials. 

This collection offers a variety of products—starting off with the Marimekko for Clinique Pop Splash Lip Gloss + Hydration in 20 water-light shades of hydrating gloss and 10 shades of the hyped Clinique Pop Lip Colour + Primer, each shade packaged in a recognizable Marimekko print. It also includes Marimekko for Clinique Empty Cushion Compacts featuring 10 unique, limited-edition lid designs that can be filled with the Cushion Compact Refill and Side by Side Empty Compacts that can be filled with powder foundation that comes in two exclusive lid designs (Available only in Asia).

The 10 archival prints featured in the Marimekko for Clinique Limited Edition Collection were created by Annika Rimala (1936-2014), one of Marimekko's most prominent ready-to-wear designers in the 1960s and 1970s. A few of the designs included are the Papajo (1968), Laine (1965), Puketti (1965) and Hedelmäkori (1964). For a full list of the prints and their history, click here. 

The collection will be launched on the Clinique website this month and in-store at Clinique retailers starting February 2018. The products will be available worldwide for a limited time at leading department stores as well.
