Liza Soberano’s Wellness Center Is Your New Sanctuary in the City
Take a break and forget about stress in this posh escape designed by interior designer Jen Sohu
Whether it’s caused by work, traffic, or chores that don’t seem to end, we’re all familiar with stress and rough days. To help ease our minds and forget our worries, many of us go on trips or book an appointment to a spa for a quick escape. For a busy actress like Liza Soberano, we’re sure that stress isn’t something new, too. In opening her new business, Hope Hand and Foot Wellness Center, Liza aims to help people relax and allot time for themselves. In a video posted on the official Facebook page of Hope, the actress said that she wants people to feel “like the center can be their second home and that it could be a sanctuary to get away from the city so that they can just forget everything they’re going through and relax.”
To achieve the look and feel she envisioned for the place, Liza worked with interior designer Jen Sohu of Sohu Designs, whose residential projects are featured regularly in Real Living, such as this rustic-contemporary townhouse and this 70sqm condo. It took two months to finish the project and Liza was hands-on every step of the way. According to Jen, the down-to-earth actress was still able to squeeze in activities related to the completion of Hope despite her busy schedule. “I didn’t expect her to personally go furniture shopping with us,” she relates.
Hope's reception area highlights touches of blush pink, furniture pieces in white, and gold trimmings. Jen shares that the concept focuses on a girly feel, but nothing too feminine so that even male customers will be enticed to try and experience the wellness services. "She wanted a classic style with a millennial feel as well," adds the designer.
On Hope's official Facebook page, Liza explained the importance of having a wellness ritual. "No matter how different everyone's lifestyle maybe, we always turn to our wellness rituals to bring us back to the center of who we really are," she says. Aside from offering different services that will surely calm the nerves and prep you for another hectic week, having a cozy and soothing ambiance is equally important. Colors play a huge role in any space as your chosen shades can help set the mood in a room.
"[For this project,] Liza wanted blush pink, gray, and white coupled with touches of metallic rose gold. Her business partner also requested something cozy and relaxing for regular clients and VIPs [so they can] enjoy a mood that's soothing," shares Jen. The final look exudes elegance and the overall feel is perfect for a calming retreat. With gray as the dominant color in the space, the designer wonderfully injected the other colors through details and accessories. Blush pink was used on the walls, white can be seen as wall accents, and rose gold was used as a chic polishing touch.
Guests will not only sink into these armchairs, they will happy put their feet up on the matching stools as well. Finalizing the pieces for the place was easy—as Liza was heavily involved in the process. The furniture pieces were customized by Home Matters, a furniture store known for modern furnishings and decor. "Liza personally chose the colors of the fabric and the soft comfy feel of the fabric to be able to cater better to her clients. The lighting and accents were also considered by Jonie, her business partner. These were chosen to match the color scheme," explains Jen.
Some of the seating pieces feature a nailhead trim and there are also poufs upholstered in a similar fabric for a cohesive look.
We can't help but notice the captivating accent wall with marble detail and pink granite accent. In this part of Hope, rose gold accessories take center stage and complement the sophisticated aesthetic.
Whether you're in dire need of a break or you simply want to reward yourself, you can always count on Hope.
