This Pretty Hair and Nail Salon Can Be Your Design Peg

Stylish interiors and excellent services make Prettiserie a must-visit

Prettiserie Hair and Nail Salon is not your typical beauty stop. It doesn't have the rushed atmosphere that you see in others, where stylists and assistants are busy milling about. On the contrary, it has a relaxing vibe that makes you feel at home.

The salon is a brainchild of interior designer Ivy Almario and her husband Yong Nieva; model and makeup artist April Tanhueco; and makeup artist Carla Fortuna and her husband Alvin Fortuna, an actor and model. Ivy, Yong, Carla, and Alvin are also partners at Cerchio Restaurant, while April is a long-time friend of Alvin. Both the salon and the restaurant are located on Sct. Limbaga Street in Quezon City.

"Ang idea talaga is to have a place na comfortable, high-end yung experience, pero affordable yung rate. Kasi mostly, yung mga salons, either super high-end or masang-masa naman, pero yung place niya, hindi ganun ka-komportable," explains Carla. April adds, "We want to be the most beautiful salon that will give the most beautiful experience in a very friendly rate." The interiors are designed by no less than Ivy Almario herself.

One look at the salon and you will immediately see that this goal has been achieved. The row of bespoke wrought iron tables and mirrors exude an elegant feel and make the salon look posh. The handpainted details on the walls look pretty, but not saccharine sweet. These are just some of the things you will see on the ground floor. Upstairs, it's where the magic happens.

On the second floor, instead of rows of dressers, wrought iron tables, wing chairs, and ottomans furnish the space. As your hands rest on the table for a manicure, you get to interact with the salon staff who is doing your nails. This setup makes the experience personalized.

The needs of the customer are considered even up to the tiniest detail, like the ribbon shape on the side of the table where you can hang your bag. On the shelves, you will see bottles of nail polish and other paraphernalia displayed on cake domes just like in a pattiserie. Similar to what is seen on the ground floor, handpainted details grace the wall. A gray-and-white color palette dominates the space for male clients not to be alienated.

If you want to enjoy Prettiserie's services with your friends, you can book the Sitting Room. Here, you get to lounge around on sofas and sit in front of a well-lit makeup table while you are being dolled up. This is perfect for bridal showers or a sparty with your friends. Meanwhile, you can book The Library if you're coming to the salon with your significant other for a more intimate experience.

Overall, you're in for a unique experience at Prettieserie. It's actually hard to leave the salon when you're done.

Prettiserie is located at 82 Sct. Limbaga St., Diliman Quezon City. It's open from Mondays to Sundays, 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Follow them on Facebook and Instagram for updates.
