On March 28 and 29, enjoy art, food, and music at Block Party


Mark your calendars, southerners! The neighborhood party you’ve been pining for is finally happening in the heart of Metro South: Block Party. The fair is a fitting brew of awesome food, artisanal finds, and ingenious creations for the modern family.

Slated on March 28 and 29 from 10am to 8pm at Ayala Alabang Village’s Makiling Park, it’s the perfect festivity to kick off the official start of summer vacation.

Cozy up underneath Makiling Park’s trees and stretch your legs on picnic blankets while sampling great food, taking in outdoor art, joining crafts workshops, and shopping for unique locally made products. 

Type Kita and PopJunkLove have also lined up exciting workshops for the artsy-craftsy.

You can also taste food specialties from Señor Pollo, El Chupacabra, Rub Ribs, 8 Cuts, Pipino Vegetarian, Breakfast & Pies, The Juice Stand, Cheezalis Street, Gostoso Piri Piri Chicken, Take Root, Pizza Morena, Boneless Bob, Chili Asylum, Juice Jab, H Cuisine, Sugar Babies Desserts Unlimited, and Caramilk Creamery.

Guests may also buy and barter art goods, works, and tools with crafters carefully selected by organizers Type Kita and PopJunkLove such as Hey Kessy, La Pomme, Bags by Rubbertree, Simoy ng Haraya, Takatak Project, Hocus Manila, ArF, Live Like It’s Friday, Ella Lama, Krafty Pirate, Pluma, Life Documented, SundayPaper, Habil, Handspaperlove, Walloh Designs, Swirls & Strokes, and many more.

There will also be art exhibits featuring the works of June Digan, Arlene Sy, Abbey Sy, Ebony Paguia, Alexis Ventura, Lai Reyes-Geluz, Raine Sarmiento, Eman Sia, Daryl Feril, Margaret Morales, Sabrina Palmares, Jamie Catt, and Kishin Javier, to name a few.

Plus, there will be local, artisanal, and earth-conscious finds for the modern home from Lagu Beach Blankets, Shoes by Kai, Ritual, Pottly N Tubby, Baby Jane Manila, Happy Bubbler, CBeauty, Harpoon Co., Vida Lim Jewelry, Space Garden, and Verb Manila.

All that fun will be capped off with performances by DJ Arbie Won, DJ Silverfilter, Toni B., and DJ Tiger Garrido.

Free entrance and discounts from select establishments await Globe Platinum subscribers courtesy of Globe Tattoo Platinum, plus free Wi-Fi at the event grounds throughout the weekend.

What’s more, a portion of the 50 pesos entrance fee will go to SOS Children’s Village.
