Angelo Siochi: This Architect Values the Use of Local Materials in the Home

“Filipinos love to eat, so in any design or planning, I always put the dining area as a center of the house or the home,” says architect and Real Living Style Spotter Angelo Siochi when asked about the most important considerations when designing a Filipino home. Aside from giving importance to the dining area, the architect also values the living area where we welcome and entertain visitors. Whether it’s a condo unit or a sprawling property, you’re sure to find bright, airy, and well-thought-out nooks in his projects. As the chief architect and creative director of AGSiochi Architecture & Design, Angelo follows a simple principle—form follows function. Every element or piece that goes into the home must serve a purpose and supported by aesthetics. His projects also have an aura of elegance that's still homey and inviting.

If you’re building your dream home or thinking about renovating a property, Angelo also suggests using local materials like wood and stone as well. “In architecture, you have to be true to your materials,” he adds.
