Everyone loves a warm and cozy cafe—it's not only the perfect midday hideout for people who work 8-to-5 jobs, it's a great place for studying and even catching up on reading, too. However, these coffee hubs aren't just for enjoying a good cup of joe, it can be a great place for getting design ideas as well. Here are some of our favorite spots:

55Square Cafe

What sets 55Square Cafe apart from other shops is that it isn't just a coffee stop—it's an art gallery, too. Tala Singson, co-owner and interior designer, was the one tasked to make the place work as a shared space. “It's a cafe and a gallery and I have to consider both sides. So wala lahat na walls, wala akong nilagay. When it comes to ornaments or décor, it's minimal. Para hindi ma take-away yung eyes dun sa mga pieces.”

RL Tip: Take inspiration from the cafe and add rows of screws underneath beams at home and use it to showcase your favorite art pieces.

55Square Café is located at G/F ALCAL Bldg. 285 Katipunan Avenue, Quezon City. For inquiries, you can email them at hi.55squarecafe[at]

Department of Coffee Manila

Whether you’re an espresso fanatic or loyal to a cup of decaf, you’ll find something to enjoy in Department of Coffee. Located in Quezon City, this quaint café has a woody, industrial vibe that is conducive for reading, working, or even long conversations with friends.

RL Tip: Use mood lighting to set a cozy ambience at home. Consider sticking to yellow-light lamps instead of stark fluorescent bulbs.

Department of Coffee Manila is located at 87a Don Alejandro Roces Avenue, Quezon City. For updates, follow them on Facebook and Instagram.

Mozaic Living

Unlike any other bespoke furniture showroom, Mozaic Living allows you to sit on the pieces for sale while sipping on their signautre blend of Benguet coffee from their in-house café, Caffeined. You can also reward yourself with a slice of Frozen Brazo de Mercedes for a complete relaxing experience.

RL Tip: Subway tiles aren't just for shower stalls and cooking corners, you can use it to add character to your bar at home for a rustic-industrial vibe.

Mozaic Living is located at #7, 1550 Sheridan, Mandaluyong City. For more information, you can visit their website or follow them on Instagram and Facebook for updates.

The Den

Aside from serving delicious coffee, The Den doesn't fall short on showcasing local flair through their interiors. The cafe sports a raw concrete finish with sleek, wood-and-steel furniture that are offset by colorful works of art and quirky knickknacks.

RL Tip: The easiest way to achieve an industrial aesthetic is ditching paint and flooring! Inject color to your home with statement decor pieces instead.

The Den is located at The HUB|Make Lab, G/L First United Building, 413 Escolta St., Manila. Open from Tuesdays to Sundays, 11am to 9pm. For updates, follow the cafe on Facebook and Instagram.

The Nook

Nestled along Maginhawa street, The Nook features interiors that would make every Potterhead's heart skip a beat—everything about the space is undeniably cool, but it is the Hogsmeade mural by ef. Studios that truly steals the show.

RL Tip: If you are tired of the usual pop-of-color walls, murals are a great way to add visual appeal to your home!

The Nook Cafe is located at A, 164 Maginhawa, Quezon City. For updates, you can follow them on Instagram ( or visit The Nook Cafe's Facebook page
