4 Things to Do Before the Holiday Break

Christmas is a few months away but you can already prepare a cozy home for your relatives and guests

December is a month of activities—given the numerous Christmas parties and family members from all over the world coming home to spend the holidays. If you are the designated host this year, you can start preparing as early as now!

Aside from ensuring a guest-friendly space, you also need do some cleaning and other preparation. Keep in mind these must-dos for a hassle-free vacation and memorable stay for your guests: 

Clean the common areas

Keep the living, dining, and bathroom areas clean. Start by organizing your essentials and keeping things in place. Don't forget to sweep the floors them mop them afterwards. The living area should be inviting with pillows and enough seating pieces.

Keep the bathroom smelling fresh and spotless. You can keep toiletries in a tray so that guests can easily get what they need.

Use natural and soothing fragrances at home

Avoid unwanted smells in your kitchen and in your bathroom! You may use coffee-based fragrances in the kitchen as it has a strong aroma that can cover up all the other scents in the area. Aside from coffee-based scents, you can also work with cinnamon! It gives off a sweet scent that's perfect for the kitchen.

To keep the bathroom smelling clean, you can work with scented candles and diffusers with deep fragrances.

Add refreshing touches

Create a relaxing feel by bringing nature into your home. Fill a clear vase with fresh flowers and place it in the living area. You can also use it as a charming centerpiece in the dining room. Aside from flowers, you can also add potted plants and succulents in the kitchen and faux plants in the bathroom. 

Prepare the food

Work a menu featuring your specialties and a few delicacies. Your guests will surely appreciate the extra effort that you would put into preparing the food to be enjoyed by everyone. Make sure you prepare some snacks, too! You can also use cute trays, colorful utensils, and printed table napkins for a cheerful vibe.
