Alessandra "Alessa" Lanot is the crafter, designer, and blogger behind Life After Breakfast. She shares her calligraphy, watercolor, rubberstamp carving, and other work on her online journal.

Since we wanted to learn more about the creative woman behind these handmade crafts, we visited Alessa's Quezon City home! Here are the 9 things that she loves the most in her personal haven and beyond:

Favorite Area in the House

“Bed! It’s where inspiration strikes. My husband PJ and I invested in a ten-inch memory foam mattress and good down covers.”

Find memory foam mattresses at Tempur, 5/L Shangri-La Plaza, Mandaluyong City.

Favorite Object on the Night Table

“A ceramic plate for my day jewelry.”

Find similar at Rustan’s Department Store.

Favorite Home Accessory

“Frames. The stuff I paint or write on almost always goes up on our wall. I always have a stack of unused frames and stretched canvas just waiting for new artwork. Also, whenever I stay over in someone else’s house, I try to leave new artwork up on their walls as a thank-you token.”

Find similar frames at SM Home at SM Malls nationwide.

Favorite Recycling Trick

"Old magazines and used paper can always be utilized in different craft projects such as fringe banners for parties, decoupage, and creative packaging."

Favorite Home Scent

“Lavender, verbena, green tea. I prefer leafy scents over floral or fruity.”

Oryspa Baby Calming Mist, P165 (50ml),

Favorite Home Appliance

“Our mini convection oven. Its countertop style yet takes up little space, so affordable, and I can cook and bake with it!”

Imarflex Convection Oven, available at appliance stores.

Favorite Pick-me-up Treat

“Whenever I feel like I’m having a bad day, I go to the bookstore. Browsing books, magazines, paper products, and office supplies relaxes me. Another instant happy boost is a vegan chocolate chip cookie! My absolute favorites are the ones from the Whole Foods Bakery in the U.S., and of course, Pipino’s  vegan oatmeal-choco cookies!”

Favorite Design Source

“I subscribe to the email feed of Design*Sponge. There are new stories and photos of inspiring homes and spaces almost every day. I also subscribe to Monocle.”
