A family’s dream house is a total collaboration between family members – and this is what the Yu family considered when they built their home. Each family member’s needs and preferences were taken into consideration, and as their family is still growing, a primary concern was which style and motif would not age with time.

Thanks to designer Hannah Acab-Faustino of Ideal Interior Design Services, the home achieved a harmonious balance between comfortable and cozy and luxuriously elegant. Hannah began by choosing a color scheme that was subdued yet warm enough for a young family. Creams and beiges were the primary colors chosen, while textures and prints were thoughtfully placed and introduced into the interiors via upholstery, fabrics, and wallpaper.

The home’s wooden furnishings were carefully chosen from classic designs from Ethan Allen and Origins at LRI, while light fixtures were picked from the Pietro Collection and Imperial. Plush pieces such as comfy armchairs, and lush greenery added softness and coziness to the home’s overall opulence.

The Yu’s home exudes elegance and luxury, yet the addition of customized storage, delicate pieces of décor, and luscious fabrics soften the look and counter a feeling of stiffness and formality – perfect for an ever-growing family with young kids eager to enjoy life in their dream home.
