Simplicity and Space Create a Relaxing Vacation Home in Negros Occidental
This couple sticks to the bare minimum to make their mountain home the perfect getaway from a busy city life
Mt. Patag, where Dinky and Milou’s home is situated, is a lush landscape with sprouting greenery, blooming flowerbeds, and trees. Ideally, it is the perfect environment for a vacation home. So when time came that the couple had to design their perfect hideaway, they knew they wanted it to reflect its surroundings.
The house itself is modern with its sleek lines, simple floor plan, and large, open areas. But all of these lend a calm air to the home. It is simple, devoid of any clutter, and allows the breathtaking views to be seen wherever one stands. Only a few wooden furniture pieces are noticeable around the home, adding a native touch to the minimalist space. “We wanted to keep it simple. When we’re up there, we want to relax, so the more clutter there is, the more things to clean, and you cannot relax well,” says Milou of their vacation home. With only the bare essentials at their disposal, the couple is able to truly get away from it all.
