Taking a peek inside the family home of Dr. Jay Lim, it’s almost hard to imagine that there were no interior designers involved—most of the work was done by the family through the years, building on what’s available, and enjoying the process of creating customized spaces.
“My dad, together with our driver (who is also an excellent welder, carpenter, and craftsman), has been working on sprucing up our home one project at a time since before lockdown,” he tells Real Living in an email.
The home itself has an interesting history: the original structure built in the ‘80s had rustic, country touches. It was extended in 2000, and the new wing was the total opposite of the first house due to its modern vibe. As the family has always been passionate about constantly evolving area in relation to their ever-changing lifestyle, what resulted was an eclectic design that’s full of personality, tying together the old and the new in a bold yet charmingly quirky space that they is nothing short of “home sweet home.”
