The Plant Parent in You Will Love This Floral Garden-Inspired Home in Pampanga
The play of colors gives the feeling of taking an early morning stroll through a blooming garden.

When architect and designer Lawrence Tumang learned that his client loves nature and gardening, he immediately made sure that the space he worked on would reflect just that. “They wanted the whole house to feel like a relaxing sanctuary with chic, fun, and corky elements,” he shares in an email interview with Real Living. “So what I did was I designed the different spaces into different types of garden.”

With traditional and mid-century touches, the home exudes a certain softness while still managing to highlight clean lines and efficient edges. A play of colors successfully balances everything out: “I used the palette of gardens for this project which uses a lot of greens and yellows which is combine with wood, marble, black and gold metal accents to achieve a chic natural style.”
Dining and Living Area
“Romantic Mid-century Tropical Garden” is what Lawrence would describe the dining and living area, which is the heart of the home. The dining area, which he admits is his favorite, sports a high ceiling which he balanced out with open shelving for décor.
"We had two issues with this space,” he says. “[The] first one is the floor standing air conditioner which we solved by providing an open-shelf casing to remove the focus on it, and providing another on the other side to balance it [out]. The second is the plain wall above the mirror console area, [for] which I provided my own custom fabric art from my travel collection.”
Mustard-colored chairs accentuated a mahogany table, both of which were from Philux.
Bedroom
This “Chic Mid-century Floral Garden” almost has a dreamy feel to it, with its “shades of pink, yellow, and rusty red” accentuated by gold and bronze. The floral duvet cover from Pottery Barn adds to its soft charm, while the yellow chairs from West Elm affords it a bit of brightness.
Master Bedroom
“Calm Mid-century Meadow Garden” is the inspiration for the home’s master bedroom, with its touches of soft greens and beiges coordinated with white, gray, and gold. “Key pieces in this room are the custom made bed end ottoman, Marimekko fabric double art from my collection, table lamps from west elm and custom made bedside table,” says Lawrence.
Media Room
A place where the family gets together, this “Fun Tropical Plantation” has yellows and greens that pop out from its grays. Marimekko pillow cases can be seen on the couch, while the walls have been decorated by Edward Hopper posters. Floor lamps are from IKEA.
Terrace
Of course, any garden home isn’t complete without a terrace. Going for “Cozy Tropical,” this space features “white patio furniture from A. Garcia Craft and Marimekko fabric accent pillows.”

Storage
While the home provides enough space for storage, Lawrance was careful with incorporating them so as not to disrupt the design’s calming flow. “We had to be clever so we use decorative baskets and boxes to hide the clutter and the stuff that [were] used every day.”
