Homeowner Vitty Gutierrez, a mechanical engineer by profession, worked on the concept of this 390sqm property when he was still living in Australia. He put his design ideas to good use in 2012, when he moved back to the Philippines with his wife Marie and their daughters Sofia and Ziva.

The structure was partly inspired by the house of Vitty's parents Cesar and Emma Gutierrez, which has floor-to-ceiling windows that offer breathtaking views of the lush surroundings. Vitty's home also has a similar rustic-meets-modern feel. The wooden pieces are complemented by vintage touches and metal details.
