A Mid-Century Townhouse With Pop Culture Influences
A hodgepodge of action figures, comic books, and movie memorabilia can be found in this exceptional home
Found at the end of a modest city street is a simple home that offers a myriad surprises. While the layout is that of a typical mid-century structure with a long and narrow living area, this townhouse reveals a space that it is equal parts music studio, pop culture museum, and barkada hangout upon entering the gates.
The one-of-a-kind home is owned by Joanne and Joel Bohol, daughter Gwen, and a pair of lovebirds named Sid and Nancy who all fondly call their home Tall House. When asked what their particular style is, Joanne calls it Tall Family style. "Obvious naman, di ba?” she says with a laugh. The moniker is appropriate, given the fact the Bohols are unusually tall for Filipinos: Joel is 6’2,” Joanne is 5’8-1/2,” and their teen daughter Gwen stands at 5’7.” Aside from the high ceilings, what truly sets this home apart from other compact homes is its mad clash of decor, patterns, and colors.
