Building a dream house is easy in such a way that you already know what you want, but hard in the sense that you want every little detail to be perfect. Such is the case of this retired couple’s home, which took a total of nine months to put up. For starters, the lady of the house already had a mental picture of what she wanted her retirement home to look like. “Country talaga ang dream ko. Noon pa, gustong-gusto ko na ng ganyan,” she says.
It’s a good thing that interior designer Carlo Martin Mecate was also into the same interior style. “Iniisip ko pa lang, alam na niya,” she adds. However, there were also a few setbacks that came with achieving the ideal home. But at the end of the day, it all came down to basing the decisions on what made the lady of the house happy. The result? A welcoming living room, a charming dining area, a bright and airy kitchen, and relaxing sleeping spaces—in short, a dream come true.
