A Charming Mini Resort in Antipolo City
Completed in just four months, the cozy getaway features customized furniture from Pampanga and clever use of space
Antipolo offers a respite for those who want to break away from the frenzy of the Metro without traveling far. With must-visit places and charming restaurants, the city truly hits the spot when it comes to offering a relaxing quick visit.
Measuring 120sqm, the property highlights a 45sqm house complete with living, dining, and sleeping areas. To maximize the space, the outdoor area also features a sauna, a pool, and a mini deck. The owners originally wanted to create a playground for their fur babies but decided to create a Balinese-inspired space instead.
“We asked help from our architect/contractor Willian Garcia who was also building our family dream home then. We took inspiration from the look and materials often seen in Balinese properties. We requested for a cozy final look,” shares the owner, Kathlyn Dagasdas. Taking into consideration the limitations brought about by the pandemic, the owners also decided to complete the resort with as many relaxing features as possible to make sure guests will have a memorable stay.
“We eventually decided to share the beauty of our resort to others that’s why we made sure visitors will enjoy the place like we do,” muses the owner. Getting to and from the resort will be hassle-free as well since it’s conveniently located between the Antipolo Church and a well-known mall.

Façade
Architect/contractor Willian Garcia designed the structure of the resort while interior designer Roella de Leon worked on the interiors. Kathlyn and her husband, who works in a cruise ship, acquired the property as investment.
Living Area
The furniture pieces used in the resort were customized and made from solid wood by ReDecor, a furniture shop in Pampanga. In the living area, the striking lighting pieces work well with the entertainment cabinet that has a beautiful solihiya detail. Kathlyn specifically likes the accent wall in the space.
“I told the interior designer that I want a unique accent wall so we came up with the idea of using a dark natural stone cut into different sizes. While the installation took time and effort, I’m happy that it turned out unique,” the owner says.
Dining Area
The compact dining area can accommodate six people but the outdoor area can also be used as an al fresco dining space when needed. Simple yet sleek, the glass-topped dining table is paired with matching chairs. To define the dining space, wall accents in varying sizes spruce up the wall.
Kitchen
Aside from allowing visitors to grill outside, the owners made sure the kitchen is well-equipped where meals can be prepared. There also enough cabinets where ingredients and essentials can be kept.
Sleeping Area
Designed as a loft, the sleeping area also has a pull-out bed so families and groups of friends can stay in the resort. From this angle, one can see the high ceiling of the tiny resort. “Our small private resort only measures 45sqm but because of the high ceiling that measures 15ft., it looks more spacious,” shares Kathlyn.
From the sleeping area, guests can have a view of the outdoors. The massage chair also doubles as a reading nook.
Bathroom
Reminiscent of resorts, the bathroom is spacious and completed with stone-like tiles, a shower area, and other details that create a posh and inviting look.
Outdoor Area
“The outdoor area is our favorite part of the resort because we really requested for a spacious outdoor area despite the size of the property,” Kathlyn explains. Aside from installing artificial turf, the design team achieved the resort-like look by adding a sauna and mini deck by the pool. It helps that there are trees near the property adding to the vacation vibe.
This mini deck can also be a spot for drinks, snacks, and even reading. Guests can hang out here before taking a dip or having a go at the sauna.
The outdoor dining area also has a dining set that can seat around 10 people, perfect for families who want a break from Metro Manila.
