Yasmien Kurdi's Modern Three-Bedroom Condo Home
Simple, bright, and homey-this unit is the perfect sanctuary for a family of three
After staying in a studio unit, actress Yasmien Kurdi and her husband, Rey, are ready to move into a bigger space to start a family. Fortunately, Rey found an available unit in Taguig City which met their needs. Aside from the bigger floor area, the couple was impressed with the property’s security and amenities. “Dahil sa CCTV cameras, nalalaman namin kung saan pumupunta si Ayesha (their daughter). Kung nagpupunta siya sa garden, alam namin. Security and safety talaga no’ng bata ‘yong iniisip namin,” says Yasmien.
In personalizing the space, the actress didn’t want to settle on one theme. While the common areas showcase modern and contemporary touches, the bedrooms highlight two distinct looks. According to Rey, Yasmien was in charge of decorations and making decisions for the home’s look. Since she wanted the unit to look different, Yasmien chose a variety of colors and materials. Beyond the handpicked pieces that complete this home, the actress shares that it’s the memories that make it special. “Do’n na ako nagbuntis, do’n na lahat. So, a lot of memories na ang nangyari sa place na ito. Kaya love na love namin ang house na ito,” she exclaims.
An open layout adds to the airy and spacious feel of the unit. Aside from the abundance of natural light, additional cove lighting adds to the bright and homey feel of the space. Well-selected furniture pieces keep the unit from looking cramped.
The living area showcases an inviting sofa spruced up with patterned pillows, two ottomans, and a center table that doubles as storage. Though compact, it is comfortable and welcoming. There are enough shelves for accessories and decor, too.

Living and Dining Areas
With the functional layout, both areas can be accessed with ease and guests can move around freely. Yasmien and her family can also enjoy watching TV while having meals.?
The compact dining area can accommodate four people. It is furnished with a slim rectangular table, two upholstered chairs, and tufted bench that can also function as a low table when needed. A mirror mounted on a textured wall helps create an illusion of bigger space while reflecting light from the sophisticated droplights.
Beside the bench is Yasmien's acoustic guitar. The actress loves to sing a few tunes during her free time.

A horizontal mirror strip keeps the look from being to overwhelming, while making the area extra interesting.
Yasmien shares that their bedroom features a Victorian-inspired theme. From the chosen wallpaper to the soft furnishings?the private space is nothing short of cozy and regal. With warm lighting setting the mood, the owners were able to achieve a hotel-like ambiance. This snug and inviting space is a welcome respite for the family as they love sleeping and spending time together.

Since Yasmien's job requires her to constantly update her wardrobe, it's quite a given that she takes up most of the closet space. However, according to Rey, the actress is not a hoarder and she knows when to let go of certain belongings. Yasmien holds a bazaar every three months to make way for new clothes. "At saka, condo lang ito, so we to minimize everything talaga," says Rey.
Perfect for the little princess, the room is filled with pink touches and furnishings?complete with a mini study area, and a collection of plushies. The bed and the canopy were purchased from IKEA. Aside from adding a whimsical touch to the space, the canopy also works as a mosquito net.
To balance out the touches of pink in the room, the corner by the door is kept white and pristine. Toys, accessories, and decor are kept in place on wall-mounted shelves, while a slim table holds a lamp and a framed piece. Clothes and other belongings are kept in the cabinet near the window.
It's hard to miss the red mosaic tiles that double as accents in the bathroom. Aside from defining the wall near the mirror, two horizontal mosaic strips spruce up the shower area, too. For a cohesive look, red accessories were also added to the space.

A special spot where Yasmien and Rey can spend some time alone, the two enjoy cups of coffee and glasses of wine with a view of the city. The sound of trickling water from the ceramic jar fountain adds to the relaxing feel of the space.
This mini outdoor nook can be accessed through the sliding doors in the living/dining areas. Aside from giving the owners a view of the property's amenities, it's also the best spot to admire the skyline. "Maganda dito, lalo na pag gabi. Lalo na pag New Year! Lahat ng putukan, makikita mo. Lahat ng fireworks hanggang sa Mall of Asia, Resorts World, Piazza sa McKinley Hill, and sa SM Aura. Lumabas ka lang dito, kita mo na lahat 'yon," Yasmien shares.
