Vice Ganda's Streamlined Three-Storey Home

In stark contrast to his jolly personality we see on TV, the home highlights a straightforward, modern style with no frills

Whether you watch his TV shows regularly or you’re one of his followers on social media, you’ll know that Vice Ganda has a fun, colorful, and busy life. While we often see him throwing jokes, making people laugh, and donning the quirkiest of outfits, his home life tells a different story. “Simple lang talaga ako. Siguro ‘yung mundong ginagalawan ko ang komplikado…Gusto ko natural,” he says.

With the help of design consultant Avelle Francisco, Vice was able to achieve a haven that’s perfect for time away from the spotlight. His three-storey home in Quezon City features a monochromatic palette, sleek furniture pieces, and modern accessories that go well together to create a bright, relaxing, and organized look.

Living Area

To achieve the bright, clean, and calming look, the house highlights a Modern Zen design concept. As seen in the living area, most of the colors used are muted—with black, gray, and white dominating the space. The sectional sofa from Contemporaneo, the glass coffee table, and the area rug have clean lines that add to the streamlined feel of the home.

Adding color to the space is Avelle's gift to Vice—an abstract painting from Artasia Gallery, SM Megamall that matches the chosen pieces in the living area.

Kitchen and Dining Areas

The common areas in Vice's house showcase a minimalist appeal—decor pieces are kept to a minimum and only the essentials are on display. In the dining area, instead of having an elaborate centerpiece, key chic pieces take center stage. A crystal bowl and matching candleholders (bought by Vice's mother in the US) set on a brown table runner complete a classy setup that complements the dining set and the home's overall look.

Dining Area

The glass-topped dining table and matching upholstered dining chairs are customized pieces by Contemporaneo. Beside the set is a console cabinet in a similar finish that holds various accessories and framed photographs.

A whimsical and lovely lighting piece from Illuminati that's reminiscent of falling stars adds a warm glow to the space. The wide windows also let in natural light into the space, keeping it airy and inviting.

It's safe to say that Vice's kitchen is peg-worthy. The L-shaped layout is perfect for accomplishing different tasks easily, while the granite countertop makes for a durable and easy-to-maintain workspace. To match the white cabinets and drawers, the appliances follow the home's color scheme, too. Most of these prized must-haves are in stainless steel or black.

RL Tip: Keep your countertop organized for a seamless workflow in the kitchen. Bring out the essentials and limit the number of small appliances on display.

Vice's Bedroom

Perhaps the only room in the house with a striking pop of color, Vice's bedroom still has a blending of blacks and whites—with a red padded headboard keeping it from being boring. Made by curtain maker Totoy Santiago, the headboard pairs well with the modern platform bed, comfy white seating piece, and the soft furnishings.

It's also difficult to miss the floor lamp beside the bed. The umbrella-shaped lampshade will surely remind you of lights used during shoots. "Artista sya e, bagay sa personality, says Avelle.

The bathroom may be small, but it packs a punch in terms of fixtures as most are from well-loved brand, Kohler. To create an illusion of bigger space, a large mirror covers an entire wall and a glass shower enclosure was installed. The chosen tiles also follow the color scheme.

Second-Floor Veranda

Built in the front part of the house, this veranda is perfect for admiring the neighborhood and hearty breakfast meals. As a safety precaution, it is enclosed by a waist-high, tempered-glass railing.

To make it even more ideal for relaxing and spending time with family, the veranda is furnished with a woven egg-shaped chair from Our Home and a four-seater, glass-topped dining table from SM North EDSA.
