In 2013, concert queen Pops Fernandez happily welcomed the YES! Magazine team into her modern Asian multi-level home in Taguig City. While the singer has a talent for whipping up meals, she admits that she didn’t develop the habit of experimenting in the kitchen. After going through a couple of hurdles, Pops finally found time to learn how to cook and even how to bake. Her sons, Robin and Ram, are often her taste testers. “Pag nagluluto naman ako, naha-happy naman ‘yong mga anak ko, because sobrang they appreciate my effort. Plus, it gives us a lot of bonding time together,” she shares.

The trio often enjoys midnight snacks, special moments that the doting mom won’t exchange for anything. “We really love to eat. It’s another way for us to bond, and we love discovering new places to eat. For me, food is one of the joys in life, lalo na when you’re in another place. To be able to experience different types of food, di ba? Some are exotic, some are parang rare. Maganda rin siyang experience,” explains Pops.
