For KC Concepcion, her modern eclectic condominium unit is an expression of her newfound persona—strong, independent, and empowered. One can easily tell that the actress, singer, and host spent so much time and effort in conceptualizing the details of her spacious three-bedroom “dream pad.” Having lived in what she described as “small spaces,” KC decided to have the walls knocked down and the layout changed in order to make the unit seem more open.

Adding flair to her unit are interesting finds mostly from her trips and antique shops, as well as some inherited belongings from her grandmother, Elaine Gamboa Cuneta. The design inspiration clearly draws from her travels and memories—something that you can also apply in your own home.

On one wall is a painting by National Artist for Visual Arts Benedicto “BenCab” Cabrera. The piano and the wooden hobbyhorse, both gifted by Lola Elaine, are also displayed in the condo.

Living and Dining Areas

The open living-dining space is a mix of modern and eclectic. The living room’s focal point is the gray sectional sofa which can comfortably seat five. The dining room, on the other hand, features an Italian-made round table with a recessed lazy Susan. KC’s power color makes an appearance by way of a cobalt blue glass chandelier from New Delhi, India.

Dividing the kitchen from the open living-dining area is an onyx wall lit up by LED lights. These translucent onyx tiles were sourced from Italy.

Home Office

The sliding glass doors separate the home office from the living and dining areas.

The drapes offer KC a greater sense of privacy when guests are around. This is also a great way of separating different areas in a compact unit.

Home Office

KC’s home office features an eclectic combination of elements. The kamagong desk with a steel base is anchored on a rug made of woven rattan. Right behind the desk is a wall adorned with coral stones. On one side of the room is a light purple chest of drawers with a touch of hot pink—an interesting burst of color in this space full of neutrals.

KC’s well-equipped kitchen takes on a red, black, and white color scheme. The modern kitchen appliances are put to good use since the homeowner loves to cook and eat.

KC first laid her eyes on the glossy red two-door SMEG freezer when she was in Paris, and that’s when she knew that she had to have it. Aside from a bold refrigerator, you can also invest in vibrant tools and utensils to add hints of color to your space.

The kitchen cabinets house her ceramic and porcelain dinnerware collection from her travels. When it comes to designing your own kitchen, you may want to keep the appliances that you often use accessible all the time. Arrange them on the countertop or display them on a sleek table.

Walk-in Closet

KC’s walk-in closet features lighted shelves to highlight some of her belongings on display. All her clothes are arranged according to type.

Walk-in Closet

You would never guess it, but behind the huge mirror are the electrical wirings and switchboards of the unit. It’s a nice way to hide something unsightly, but it does come with a downside—the mirror has to be taken out when the need to repair arises. Another wall showcases KC’s collection of accessories—carefully displayed using wooden rods.

Powder Room

Sunset colors dominate the common powder room, while the abaca wallpaper adds texture to the space.
