Jake Cuenca’s Two-Bedroom Bachelor Pad

The actor’s home exudes a distinct masculine appeal

In 2009, actor Jake Cuenca purchased two units in a high-rise condominium located in Mandaluyong, with the intention of combining them to form one spacious unit.

He didn’t have a specific design in mind—the actor just wanted something simple and very masculine. “It was really how I felt at that moment, and it’s something na parang very me. I really did not copy [from books or magazines]. Ito ’yong naramdaman kong gusto ko, ’tapos ’yon ang sinabi ko do’n sa nag-i-interior,” he shares.

Jake enlisted the services of architect Leni Llapitan of R.A. Leveriza & Associates, his maternal grandfather’s architectural firm. The actor naturally wanted to be involved in the design process, so he took care of selecting the furniture and furnishings, with his picks mostly sourced from stores such as Bo Concept, Dimensione, Dwell, and Our Home.

After four months, his 110sqm, two-bedroom bachelor pad turned out to be just that—simple, masculine, and a space that Jake can call his home.
