One way or another, our hobbies somehow save us from stress and demanding days. Whether you’re into knitting, reading, or working on a few crafty projects—these passions help take our minds off things.

For Starstruck alumna Sheena Halili, a few hours spent in the kitchen whipping up meals keep the bad thoughts away. It’s not surprising that she loves cooking, though, as her family home is found in Pampanga—a province known for its delicacies and must-visit food stops. Her family's kitchen and dining areas feature classic and modern elements, with hints of gold and fancy details to boot.

Dining Area

The dining area evokes a grandiose meets dainty feel with the ornate dining table and floral upholstery of the chairs. Custom-made by a shop in barangay Betis, now known as San Miguel, the dining set can comfortably seat eight people.

Given the numerous items found in the space, it's essential to have an arsenal of storage solutions to keep clutter at bay. The dining area features a mobile cart, a console cabinet beside the dining table, and a storage center upon entrance to the space that can be used to display decor and keep extra dinnerware.

Dining Area Detail

Completing the look are the chandelier made of Capodimonte, a type of porcelain, and the sophisticated gold-plated cutlery set. To complement the rococo-inspired details, touches of gold—as seen in the curtains, furniture, and decor—were also gracefully incorporated into the area.

From the classic details of the dining area, the kitchen features a modern appeal dominated by a black-and-white palette. Hints of orange and gold seen in the furnishings serve as accent colors.

The island in the middle can work as extra work area or even as an informal dining table given the sleek black chairs. Since Sheena's mom collects china and cutlery, built-in shelves were installed to keep it organized. We love how the cabinets have lights inside—adding to the luxe feel of the space.

Just like in any other cooking area, this kitchen also highlights key appliances that make meal preparation easier. Although a few small appliances take up counter space, it doesn't look cluttered at all as these only occupy one side of the spacious countertop.

Meanwhile, another captivating chandelier lends elegance to the space and keep this part of the home within the overall theme.
