One of the busiest areas in Danica Sotto-Pingris’s family home is the kitchen—and that shouldn’t come as a surprise. The TV host and culinary school graduate’s love for food and cooking started from her childhood. “Maliliit pa kami ni Oyo, ’pag umuuwi kami galing school, nagluluto na si Mommy ng dinner,” she says, describing some of her fondest memories of her mom, veteran actress Dina Bonnevie. “Lahat from scratch talaga,” she adds.

Years later, she decided to pursue a degree in culinary arts and technology management at the Center for Culinary Arts Manila. There, she learned to hone her skills—from food preparation to cooking and plating. But even with her diploma, she says it is still her family and home cooking that inspire her the most. Now married to professional basketball player Marc Pingris and a mom to son Jean-Michel and daughter Anielle Micaela, Danica reveals that her brood keeps her creative in the kitchen. This creativity is not only reflected in the dishes she whips up for them, but also in the design details of the space. A collection of pretty, colorful knickknacks make the kitchen even more personal—perfect for the area where Danica is now making new food memories with her own family.
