Keep in mind these tips:

1. Go for all-natural cleaning products.

These products do not use nor produce toxic waste so they're safe for your kids as well.

You may choose to dry up with a community-friendly, fairtrade towel. You may visit Echostore for products like these.

2. Lessen bottled water.

Filter your own drinking water. By doing this, you'll minimize the processing and plastic waste of buying it bottled.

3. Choose sustainable must-haves.

Go for kitchen implements in easily sustainable materials like bamboo that can be easily grown and a chopping board made from renewable wood.

4. Invest in LEDs.

Use bright, energy-saving bulbs that are great for task lighting in the kitchen.

5. Segregate your trash.

Allot at least two garbage bins for segregating. Make them different colors so your househelp can tell which ones are for biodegradable and non-biodegradable or recyclable trash. Always use biodegradable trash bags.

6. Have a stash of eco bags ready.

Keep them in a tray or basket so it will be easy for you or your househelp to grab one when heading out to the market or grocery.
