Q: Since my bedroom is located between the master bedroom and the TV room, it doesn't have any windows. I have to turn the light on even at noon because it's always so dark. Can you give me tips on how to make the room seem brighter without making it hotter? — Sandy Timbre-Rones
A: Here are a few ideas that will help brighten up your bedroom:
- First, decorate your room to improve its ambience.
- Use mirrors and place them strategically so they can catch and reflect the light. Paint your room a bright color and have a feature wall.
- Try to fill up one wall with framed pictures or posters — this will help distract you from the missing window.
- You can also replace your bedroom door into a door with a frosted glass panel. This will allow more light in without compromising your privacy.
