Luxurious Style for a 24sqm Unit in Makati
The Philippine School of Interior Design students highlight the beauty of Art Nouveau style in this studio-sized space
What can you do with a 24sqm home? The Philippine School of Interior Design (PSID) graduating students explore the possibilities through Studio 24, an interior design exhibit with 24 different units that measure 24 square meters each.
One of the 24 spaces is a studio unit for a young fashion designer! Inspired by the flowing lines, whiplash curves, and other classic Art Nouveau elements, the home is classic and elegant.
The Color Scheme
The first thing that we noticed about this 24sqm unit is the sweet and soothing color palette! The small space is filled with shades of pink, gold, cream, and white.
The Alfred Galvez Mural
We were also impressed by the Alfred Galvez interpretation of an Alphonse Mucha painting. The hand-painted mural has soft and graceful curves — something we often see in Art Nouveau-style homes.
The Mini Work Area
Since the homeowner is a fashion designer, she needed a work area for meeting clients! With this in mind, students Dennis Capinpin, Jasmine Ancheta, Joanna Abia, Maricris Monzon, Lia Ong, and Chelsea Go also created a living area that doubles as a home office.
The piece that we loved the most in this particular area is this beautiful divan. The lovely seat is topped with different throws and throw pillows.
The Four-Poster Bed
No princess-style home would be complete without a four-poster bed and sheer draping curtains! Aside from being an enticing piece, we also think that it adds a dramatic touch to this 24sqm space.
Studio 24 will run from October 3 to 31, 2015 at the Ronac Lifestyle Center, Paseo de Magallanes, Makati City. Admission is free.
