STEP 1 A day or two before you repot, give your plants or seedlings a thorough watering so the soil sticks together.
STEP 2 Pour around one inch of moistened garden soil into your potting container.
STEP 3 To remove plant from its old plastic container or bag, cut the container, hold plant by the strongest part of its stem and carefully pull it out.
STEP 4 Examine the plant's roots. Trim and remove soil any roots that look decayed, damaged, or fungus-eaten.
STEP 5 Lay the plant carefully on top of the moistened soil in your container. If you're planting a row, space the plants around two inches apart.
STEP 6 Fill container with garden soil until it entirely covers the roots. Water plant as needed.
