Grown Your Own Salad Greens in 2 Weeks With These DIY Kits
No green thumb? No problem.

Growing your own veggies at home shouldn't have to be a long, labor-intensive process. If you start small, like with microgreens for example, you'll be able to serve some health-boosting veg on your plate in as fast as two weeks. No prior gardening experience needed!
Microgreens, as you can guess from the name, are young vegetables that are small enough to fit in your palm. Compared to regular-sized veggies, these can grow and be safely consumed in under a month, ready to be added to your salads and sandwiches.
You can find microgreen seeds in your local gardening shop and plant them at home, but for a convenient start, Micro Acres PH's DIY kits are the way to go. Aside from the seeds themselves, their kits include a reusable tray with a lid and root spacer so you can start growing right away.
How about the soil, you ask? They've got that covered, too, except you don't actually need any to grow these microgreens. Instead, Micro Acres packs the seeds in soil-free seedmats, which serve as an effective and mess-free medium for growing your food. Just place it inside your tray, soak it in water, and place the lid on to let the greens do their thing.
The brand recommends taking the lid off after three to four days. From there, place it under direct light (sunlight from your windowsill is fine, too!) and wait seven to ten days for them to mature. As long as the mat has enough water, you don't have to worry about it not growing!
To harvest your micorgreens, get a clean pair of scissors and snip them out of the mat. Keep in mind that you'll need to use a new seedmat to harvest a new set. Sounds easy enough, right?
