Growing gardens are a great way to spend your free time—after all, nothing beats being surrounded by plants to get you feeling calm and collected. However, if your green corner is nothing but chaos, it's highly likely that you won't be able to relax in it. Don't worry, it doesn't take much to get it looking tidy. Get your special nook in order with these easy must-dos:

1. Sweep the surroundings. Before setting up a potting depot, make sure to clear leaves from your lawn, reseed patchy areas, and plant spring flowering bulbs to make a great canvas for your garden.

2. Organize a storage station. There's nothing worse than having messy tools ruin a beautiful garden. To avoid this, keep your bags of potting material, planters, and miscellaneous garden tools inside crates. Pasta noodle jars and wafer stick containers hold dry goods well, too.

3. Keep your spare pots soil-free. Make sure all soil is emptied from pots and planters before stashing them away. Dirt left in clay pots can get wet in the rain and leave your storage area muddy and full of grime.

4. Keep the mess in one area. Assign a spot in your green corner where you can contain the dirt when repotting or planting new greens. Consider using a tray or old tupperware to catch the excess soil and make sure it's big enough to fit all your pots.

5. Add some quirky details. Just because it's outdoors, doesn't mean you can't decorate it! Keep your green corner from looking lifeless by adding fun touches like gnomes, fairy houses, or even old toys. This will make your garden a great play area for your kids, too!
