5 Ways To Spruce Up the Home With Plants

After a long day outside, it's always rejuvenating to see hints of green at home. Aside from prettifying your space with plants, a few pots here and there will give your haven a calming vibe and even help purify the air.

If you already have a couple of affordable indoor plants occupying a small pocket garden or your balcony, you may want to explore other ways on how to complete a green takeover that you and your guests would appreciate. Here are five ideas to explore and try:

1. Use plants as bookends.

Does a floor-to-ceiling shelf serves as your home's focal point? Aside from filling it with books, magazines, and fancy decor pieces, you can take it a notch higher by using plants as bookends. To do this, you can work with small glass jars or recycled mason jars. Repot your plants into these containers and make sure it's heavy enough with smooth pebbles and stones. Once you're done, you can use your finished projects as bookends for hardbound books or a group of your favorite paperback novels.

2. Let them float and steal the show.

Got a plain window at home? Aside from depending on printed and colorful curtains, you can make it extra beautiful by crafting a floating shelf and using it to display two to three potted succulents. Use recycled wood and twine for a rustic touch and display your plants using white ceramic planters for an elegant look.

3. Update your foyer with a ladder shelf and your chosen indoor plants.
