English Country Style for a 24sqm Unit in Makati
The Philippine School of Interior Design graduating students bring classic and modern pieces together in this small home
What can you do with a 24sqm home? The Philippine School of Interior Design (PSID) graduating students explore the possibilities through Studio 24, an interior design exhibit with 24 different units that measure 24 square meters each.
One of the 24 spaces is a studio unit for twin sisters Sophia and Ysabella. Here are the 4 things that impressed us in this English Country-inspired home:
The Traditional Style
To create an English Country-inspired home, graduating students Chen Regidor, Nachelle Nocom, Danica Pua, Jerard Consorte, Jasmine Bardoles picked out a classic blue-and-white color scheme and wooden elements and furniture. These well-chosen elements — including a pair of Windsor chairs — make the space feel warm, cozy, and inviting.
The Charming Kitchen and Dining Area
Unfortunately, the kitchen and dining areas are often neglected in small homes! We are happy to report that this is not the case for this bachelorette pad. The kitchen is fitted with pristine white cabinets with molding details and white subway tiles.
Meanwhile, the dining area is furnished with banquette seating upholstered with a dainty fabric. The country-style dining table is a fitting final touch.
The Floral Walls
Since we have seen more than our fair share of plain walls, it's always refreshing to see walls adorned with dainty English roses. This sweet and dainty print makes the blue-and-white bedroom even more beautiful.
The Upholstered Headboards
The twin sisters' bedroom is also furnished with a pair of matching upholstered headboards. We love the pristine white fabric used and the metal studs that accentuate the soft curves.
Studio 24 will run from October 3 to 31, 2015 at the Ronac Lifestyle Center, Paseo de Magallanes, Makati City. Admission is free.
