Q: What’s the appropriate look for a boys' bedroom? The room has one window and a small closet. The walls are painted with a glossy shade of blue, while the ceiling is plain white. How can I add life to the room in terms of artistic designs and practical furniture arrangements?— Anne Advincula
A: Choose a less bright color for a lasting effect. Kids have a tendency to lose interest in their room after a few months. Go for a lighter blue color that’s easy on the eye. The ceiling can be as simple as a white paint finish for a more spacious look.
For a little more excitement, you can choose a mural to be painted on one wall. Vintage maps, cars, or animal prints should be fine. I would suggest Ms. Judy Cervantes who does really nice murals to fit your budget. She can be reached at 0917-8372938.
Furniture should fit the lifestyle of your child. If he’s engaged in a lot of sports, getting a toy storage to keep his equipment would be best. Consider practical furniture like trundle beds, toddler’s desk, closet, writing chair, etc.
