When we see empty picture frames, it's quite natural that we feel thrilled about displaying photographs in it. However, gone are the days when frames are just about displaying family portraits—today, it is quickly becoming a hot decorating trend—especially for Shabby Chic or country-inspired homes. To inspire you to work with these beautiful pieces, we've put together five photo pegs you'll surely love:

Line them going up the staircase

Is your flight of steps looking a little lackluster? Spruce it up with a bunch of chirpwood frames that can easily make any space look classy. Aside from adding a rustic touch to your home, it is super easy-to-maintain, too!

Create a stunning centerpiece

To create an unforgettable display, stack a few ornate frames together (you can easily get these from thrift stores!) and decorate it with fresh blooms and scented candles. This is the perfect focal point for intimate gatherings you can set up in the dining area.

Simply display them around your home

For genuine, vintage frames (especially the ones with gold matting), you can easily get away with leaving them as is. After all, most of these pieces are already too intricate to be styled around—less is more applies to this tip.

Set up a vintage-inspired vingette

If the empty frames you have on-hand are too plain, give it personality by distressing them a little. Afterwards, you can put them all together for a nice, layered display. You don't even have to put up the frames on the walls—simply propping them up against a panel would do the trick.

Create modern typography

If pictures aren't your thing, you can play with words instead. Print quotes on paper or maybe use letters to form your name—either way, make sure to use uniform frames for a streamlined feel.
