RL Tips: A Modern Rustic Living Room
Neutrals, clean shapes, and natural wood will complete this living room look
Rustic furniture originated in the mid- 1800s. It was influenced by the early 19th-century financial depression in the West. Because of the economic slide, furniture makers used whatever available materials there were, like twigs and larger branches, for production of furniture. A famous example of this type of piece is the Vienna Chair designed by a German- Austrian cabinet maker Michael Thonet. Today, rustic furniture incorporates unpolished metal to the natural wood finish for a more updated look.
