Cute Cut-outs

Hang paper cutouts from a droplight to completely alter its look. A pendant lamp hanging over your table can take on a much more festive air when swathed with dainty cutouts. If you don't have time to draw and cut your own patterns, dig up your kids' arts and crafts projects and hang those instead.

Havin' A Ball

Brush the dust off those old Christmas tree ornaments, and place bunches in clear vases and bowls. Christmas balls in one color make an impact, while the various sizes (from large orbs to teeny ones in strands) and finishes (some shiny, some matte) add interest to this simple centerpiece.

Romance and Reflection

Bring a sexy vibe to your holiday decor by lighting up some white candles. Place these on a mirror to create a dreamier glow, and surround with fresh leaves and strands of metallic beads. Just be sure never to leave the candles unattended!

Twigging Out

Dead branches may be trash on your lawn, but they're real treasures in your foyer! Pick up a few gracefully formed sticks, prop them up in a vase, and hang some crystal ornaments to create a mini, makeshift Christmas tree to greet guests as they come into your home.

Textured Tableau

Decorate a ledge, a shelf, or even a wide windowsill with a mishmash of items with various textures. In this elegant art deco-inspired setting, an ultra-soft white ostrich feather rests in a clear glass vase, and floats above some fresh leaves plucked from the garden. Metallic pinecones and a Venetian mirror add a touch of glam. No silver pinecones lying about? Spray-paint your old ones!

In Full Bloom

Little flowers in glass containers make a pretty centerpiece for a Christmas tea party.
