Set up an entertaining cabinet

Every noche buena, we spend a lot of time going back to the kitchen for extra plates, glasses and utensils. Make it simpler by clearing a shelf near your table and filling it with dinnerware, glassware, and other entertaining essentials. Remember to use white and red pieces for a festive look!

Set up a low-key Christmas table

No time for a fancy, elaborate table? Pair elegant black and red dinnerware with holly in tin cans and shiny, sparkling tree decor scattered around the table.

Dream of a White Christmas

You don't have to be limited to red and green colors. Create a romantic centerpiece with fresh flowers and fairy lights.

Make a modern tree

DIY your own, space-saving, modern Christmas trees by cutting out this pattern on a white foam board. The best part? You can fold it flat after the holidays!

Reinvent your sungka

A no-Christmas-tree-trick by stylist Binky Ilusorio: fill sungka holes with Christmas balls and votive candles. (Note: never leave lit candles unattended!)

Spruce up your table

If you don't have time to put up a full-size Christmas tree, get a tabletop tree. You can choose traditional pine, or go modern with wire, tinsel, even crystal trees.

Gather twigs and branches

Binky Ilusorio also plucked fallen twigs from her garden, stuck it in a trough, and decorated it with ornaments. This is a simple piece that is easy to make and costs absolutely nothing.

Work with what you have

No need to buy Christmas decor if you use red, green, and white pieces that you already own! Architect Arlene Maslog chose Christmas-colored accessories she found around the home.

Throw a cocktail party

Instead of the conventional sit-down dinner, ask your friends to come over after their respective Christmas dinners with their families. You can have casual, sit-anywhere cocktails and hors d’oeuvres (no dining table required).

Deck the halls

One last tip: make your entryway merry instead with a little Christmas corner! Just like stylist Coni Tejada, you can create a minimalist but sparkly arrangement.
