Must-See: Retired Boeing 727 Turned Into An Eclectic Home

This one-of-a-kind living space is parked out back, too.

From upside down houses to industrial spaces built from shipping containers, people have proven that we can be very experimental when it comes to creating our personal spaces. It's especially true for homeowner Bruce Campbell.

A member of the Aircraft Fleet Recycling Association (AFRA), Campbell decided to turn an old Boeing 727 plane into a unique living space. Fully equipped with water, electricty, sewage and 1,066 square feet of interior space, he comfortably lodges here for six months each year since buying it in 1999 for around $100,000.

Campbell's airplane home is truly an outstanding work of art and has become somewhat of a tourist spot in Portland, Oregon where he is from. While some may find it strange, he says he loves living in it because it's like a big toy. The trick doors and floors plus the countless hatches and latches everywhere are perfect for technology enthusiasts like himself.

If you are wondering where Campbell stays for the other half of the year, he is currently restoring a Boeing 747 in Japan and turning retired aircrafts into another "creative space" for himself.
