Create a Home Bar in 5 Easy Steps

Organize a summer-themed party and get ready to welcome guests at home

A couple of drinks and a bunch of stories make up a fun bonding time with friends. Having a party at home is much more fun and affordable than going to crowded hangout places. Make your guests feel extra special by having a personalized bar where you can concoct and enjoy drinks.

Let these steps guide you.

Keep in mind the following:

Opt for a cool storage space

Before you get started with your project, consider the space where you can store the drinks. Choose a shaded area as storing them outside might affect the shelf life of your beverages. If you have extra space in your dining area, you can add open shelves where you can store the drinks. However, if you live in a condo, you may opt for a chic tray or bar cart.

Pick your favorite beverages

What's a bar without the drinks? Choose items that you and your friends will enjoy. Some of the no-fail picks include wine, beer, vodka, and gin.

Have the right utensils

To be able to mix drinks, you need the right utensils. You need not buy tons of items! Start slow by having the essentials like: a shaker, a strainer, a stirrer, and a jigger. With these four must-haves, you can easily prepare your own drinks from scratch.

Use the right glassware

Aside from filling your bar with drinks and essentials, it's important that you serve them in proper glassware. Keep in mind that there are glasses meant for cocktails, juices, and wine. Click here to familiarize yourself with the different types of glassware.

Create the right ambience

If you're holding the party in your garden, make sure you add mood lighting and prepare the perfect playlist, too! Click here for more tips on how you can style your lanai.
