DIY: Recycled Memo Board

Recycle your old frames into chic reminder boards

Breathe new life into an old photo frame. Instead of storing them somewhere else or using them to display family photos, you may upcycle it into a memo board. You can place your finished project in the kitchen you can keep track of your recipes or needed groceries. You may also put it in your foyer so family members can leave messages on their way out.

  • Old picture frame
  • Colored or patterned paper that you designed or print out on your own
  • Whiteboard marker or liquid chalk
Re-do it:
  1. Choose a picture frame to match the style of your space.
  2. Instead of placing a photo in the frame, insert a sheet of patterned or colored paper.
  3. Test your whiteboard marker or liquid chalk on a small corner of the glass. Make sure the writing can be wiped off completely.
  4. Hang the frame on your wall or display it where everyone can see it—perhaps the foyer console or the kitchen counter. Your “new” frame can also serve as a reminder and message board.

Start scribbling!

RL Tip: Contrast the color of the paper with the color of the marker for added visibility. You can find whiteboard markers or liquid chalk in National Bookstore and Saizen.
