Decor Myth Busted: White is Difficult to Maintain
Three designers shed light on these popular home myths

The use of the right surface material is key. Generally, dirt clings less on glossy surfaces than on matte. In painting walls, it is recommended we use semi-gloss paints. However, if a matte finish is required, there are paint products that have a silk finish with "low-maintenance qualities.”
John suggests Boysen Virtuoso Silk Touch paints, which has dirt-wicking Teflon in its mix. More reasons to use white? It brightens a dim area, and the color can be a perfect backdrop for certain pieces, such as artwork, that you want to show off.
THE BOTTOM LINE: WHITE IS A SOPHISTICATED OPTION, AND IS EASY TO MAINTAIN.
