As much as we would love to spend majority of our days improving our home, real life will always get in the way—after all, work and responsibilities are inevitable. To make room in our busy schedules, what we need are decor ideas that call for little time and a big imagination. Check out these fresh tips that will instantly amp up the style of your space:

Change the curtain.

Simply trading in your old drapes for a new set can brighten up your space! Consider going for sheer ones to let more sunshine into your home.

Hang a few plates.

Not ready to splurge on art? Plates in unexpected colors make a great substitute for wall decor. Mix and match colors, sizes, textures, and patterns to create a dramatic display.

Roll out a rug.

Similar to the curtains, a gorgeous area rug can make or break your living area. If you live in a small home, this is a great way to anchor a space or visually separate it from another.

Improve the lighting.

We can't emphasize it enough—lighting is key to great design. Create a romantic ambiance in your home by installing a dimmer switch to make your current setup more versatile or add a few lamps in the living area to warm up the space.

Spruce up furniture hardware.

Replacing the hardware on different furniture pieces is an inexpensive and easy upgrade. Find pulls in similar sizes so you don't have to redrill holes or you can get creative by using old knickknacks you have at home.
