1. Light tints, greens, and blues can help you relax.

"Light colors usually relax the mental processes. So it is best to convey colors that represent a more scenic and tranquil picture," says Karen. "Blue, green, and purple are some of the best choices if, for example, you want a bedroom to be cozy and conducive to rest and relaxation."

2. Bright colors are no-fail stimulants and energizers.

"Color-appropriateness is crucial to function. For example, if you want a stimulating activity for a particular room like a family room, various attractive and heavy colors of red, pink, green and yellow are colors that promote excitement and happiness," explains Karen.

3. Say no to contrasting primaries.

Dr. Asid shares that a blue-and-red color combination can strain the eyes. "Yung color spectrum, one end is blue, and the other one is red. So nasa dalawang extremes sila, at pinagsama mo sila in a particular object, yung contrasting colors, nagkakaroon ng tinatawag na chromatic aberration, so nahihirapan ang mata natin na mag-cope doon sa difference ng kulay."
