Decorating a child-friendly home can be very tricky. It can be overwhelming—especially with considerations like: hypoallergenic fabrics, safe furniture, and the types of paint that can be used on the walls.

Some even worry about the design of the house. How can you achieve a stylish and inviting home while keeping it safe for the little ones? Keep in mind that once you figure out what works for you, you'll be able to come up with solutions that meet your standards.

To inspire you, we've rounded up some of our favorite kid-friendly spaces:

For floor that can withstand food spills and toy tricycle tracks, choose laminated hardwood flooring. It's more affordable than tiling but it's just as easy to maintain. Keep them spotless and grit-free by wiping and waxing regularly.

RL Tip: Consider adding a non-skid area rugs to avoid accidents—especially if your kid loves to run around.

Worried about bumps and bruises? Choose cushioned furniture, padded lids, and light fabrics. Aside from being safe options, these picks are very much comfortable—perfect for days when you simply want to take a breather and rest.

Kids look at walls like a huge blank canvas that they can draw on. Consider using paint that's easy to clean and in neutral colors. These shades won't class with your decor and are quite easy to update. The upkeep of eggshell-finish paint is quite easy—all you need is a damp cloth to get rid of ink stains!
