The bathroom is technically the smallest room in almost every home. But what do you do if have an extremely small bathroom—the type wherein you can bathe, brush your teeth, and do your thing within an arm-span-width space?

Our advice is not to neglect your loo, but jazz it up even more! A tiny bathroom or powder room allows you to go wild with your design, and the best part is renovation will cost less, because it is small. Here are some ideas:

Try an organically shaped tub

Oh ex-squeeze me, but an egg-shaped tub like this can actually fit better in a small bathroom, rather than the standard, bulky rectangular or round bathtubs, so go ahead and indulge. For a similar tub like this, try Sanitec.

Tiny countertop? Use a tiny sink

You can still have one of those trendy over-counter lavatories—you just need to find a really small one! You can find a diminutive sink like this locally at Homestore.

Make one wall really bold

Boldly patterned wallpaper can actually enhance a tiny loo, and not make it look smaller. Just apply your wallpaper to a spot (like the lavatory area above the backsplash) that’s away from the wet areas, like the shower. You can find a similar pattern at Studio Eleven.

Get cabin fever

This really tiny bathroom gets a shipshape, boat-like vibe from a metal tub, vintage sanitary fixtures, a rustic sink base, and coastal colors of warm wood and aqua. You can buy vintage-style sanitary fittings at CW Home Depot Ortigas.

Go luxe, all the way

Lots of great things happening in this dormer-window bathroom: dramatic, gold koi (!) wallpaper, gold fittings, and old-fashioned subway tiles. We love how the designer was able to fit in a luxe marble vanity countertop with storage underneath.

Dress it up with plants

Isn’t this the skinniest bathroom you’ve ever seen? We dare say, it is one of the most stylish, too! Some awesome small loo tricks here: a wall-hung toilet bowl, a really skinny and long sink (so cool), a tiny ledge over the WC, and glazed tiles that act as a mirror make the space look bigger. You can get a similar sink at Sanitec, and similar tiles at iTrade.
