7 Decorating Ideas from a 30sqm Apartment in Paranaque
Handy tips inspired by Artwine owner Beam Mariano's bachelorette pad
Entrepreneur Beam Mariano's 30sqm apartment is one of the most popular homes on the Real Living website because it is filled with DIY projects, budget finds, and sweet Shabby Chic-inspired details.
If you have always dreamed of having a similar look in your own space, here are a few tips that you should definitely try:
Beam shares that homeowners can find affordable pieces at Uniwide Warehouse Club. One of her favorite Uniwide pieces is this white bird key holder mounted on a wall near her front door.
Almost all of Beam's frames, plates, and mugs were also purchased at Uniwide for less than P100 each. At the time of the photoshoot, her most recent haul included these cute (but inexpensive!) mugs with gold dots.
Uniwide Warehouse Club is located along Sucat Road, Paranaque City.
Beam furnished her dining area with secondhand chairs and a secondhand dining table, all from Evangelista St., Bangkal, Makati. You can also visit thrift shops to find cheap but charming pieces for your home.
Since a fancy wrought iron bed was too expensive, Beam had to work on what she already had: a headboard from her parents' house.
Beam used white spray paint to cover the original dark varnish, dragon-and-phoenix carving, and tan-colored tufting.

Beam's white wicker side table looks even cuter because of its pink drawer pull. You can also reinvent your white cabinets by repainting or replacing the handles.
RL Tip: Not a fan of pink? You can also try buttercup yellow, mint green, or powder blue!
You can spruce up your space with colorful felt flowers like these pink, yellow, and white handmade blooms. In this corner, the mini bouquet from Artwine is placed beside Beam’s bunny named William Butler Yeats.

Since Beam loves arts and crafts, her space had to have DIY projects and materials. Some of her favorite things in the 30sqm apartment include these Martha Stewart colored pencils with names like “starfish”, “eucalyptus," and “sea green”.
Since Beam loves to cook, she had to have mint, basil, and other herbs. These plants are placed on another reasonably-priced find: a lacquered cabinet from a Japan surplus store.
